Mike Mahoney
Meet our one and only team member, for now. His name is Mike Mahoney. He is 25 years old, works as a full-time Mechanical Engineer, is a full-time dog dad, and continuously crushes his goals inside and outside of the gym. He started his weight loss journey during his senior year of high school, when he stepped on the scale at a whopping 275 lbs. From the outside, he was a happy and out-going individual but, on the inside, he felt like a constant weight was on his shoulders and he was incredibly unhappy with himself. He saw his family members staying active with full-time jobs, families, etc., and said to himself: “If they can do it and make the effort with everything they have going on, I can too.”
Thus began his weight loss journey. Again, starting out at 275 lbs, Mike has collectively lost over 100 lbs and sits around a comfortable 200 lbs at this time (this is after numerous cycles of muscle growth and fat loss). In his time, he has trained for Spartan/obstacle course races, bodybuilding (body recomposition), and powerlifting/strength training. Mike is well-versed and well-rounded when it comes to different areas of athletic training, and is prepared to help others achieve similar goals he has accomplished in the past, or is planning on accomplishing in the future. Below you can find his transformation, and personal message from Mike and how health and fitness has changed his life for the better:

“From chunker to passionate bodybuilder.
It’s been a long, long road from 275 lbs to where I’m at now… a re-sculpted 200 lbs. I looked incredibly unhealthy on the left, thought I was ugly, and my mindset was all messed up. I was extremely disappointed with the way I looked. In my own, humble opinion, I look like a brand new person on the right.
There have been many ups and downs, but a total of 100+ lbs has been shed over the years.
I’m a happier, healthier person now and am glad I made the decision when I did. Thank God I did.
Health and fitness is pretty amazing when you break it down. I feel it trickles into many areas of a person’s life, and they don’t even realize it.
Here’s how. Bodybuilding was, and is, my saving grace. Had I not discovered it, or a gym at least, I might still be going down the path I was on back when I weighed 270 lbs. I’d probably be heavier… I’d probably be miserable… I’d probably be an extremely despondent and dissatisfied individual… I’d probably have many other health issues. But I don’t, and I am thankful.
Once bodybuilding started to change my physical being, my mentality about everything in life started to change too.
My confidence was boosted.
I was happier and saw the light in everything.
I became more of a go-getter, and an out-going individual, instead of the shy, uncomfortable person I used to be. When this all changed, many of the quality people I have in my life started to trickle in and have stayed, and I have a very tight circle I value. For a time, I felt incredibly lonely and isolated. I no longer feel that way.
Once I proved to myself I could do this, my whole outlook on life changed. I now know that there isn’t a thing I can’t achieve, as long as I put my all into it. The proof is there.
The same goes for you. Make a change. Start today.”
